- It may be common in China, but it began in India!
Buddhism actually came to China during the Han dynasty, but they're weren't many Buddhists in China.
It gained popularity in China during the Period of Disunion; people were attracted to the idea of peace in these rough times.

After the Period of Disunion, Buddhism was now very popular; plenty of wealthy people were donating land and other things of similar importance to Buddhism. It gifted plenty of new ideas to China, in fact, Buddhism is still practiced in China (and other places) today!

- The Song dynasty was mostly helped along with the teachings of Confucius, even though he'd died around 1,500 years before!
Confucianism originated from the teachings of Confucius (there's a shocker), Confucius was a Chinese philosopher who focused on ethics. This religion was in China for a lOOOOOOOng time, it was helpful in problem-solving and pollitical changes, and inspired dynasties and other peoples or persons.

Fun Fact: - Neo-Confucianism was a blend of different religions!
Neo-Confucianism is a mix of Confucianism and other religions (including Buddhism & Daoism). It was invented by philosophers who were interested in Confucianism, they fiddled around and tweaked it as they studied I suppose, because suddenly there's a new religion!
